Mick Jagger is recovering nicely after he fell ill this week with COVID-19 and prompted the Rolling Stones to postpone two shows on their 'Stones Sixty' European tour.
The Rolling Stones' official Twitter account was first to give the good news Wednesday after a concerned fan inquired about the 78-year-old frontman's condition.
"He's feeling much better! 🙌 " the Stones wrote.
The band then proceeded to ensure fans once again that the Stones would be back on tour next week "as planned," and that the rescheduled dates would be announced "asap."
Jagger himself confirmed the news a few minutes later.
"Thank you all so much for your well wishes and messages the last few days," he wrote in a statement. "I'm feeling much better and can't wait to get back on stage next week. The Amsterdam date has been rescheduled for July 7 and we'll have news of the new Bern [Switzerland] date ASAP. See you soon!"
The Rolling Stones were scheduled to play Amsterdam on Monday, but Jagger reported flu-like symptoms that morning. A subsequent test revealed he was positive for COVID. Jagger went into isolation as the band called off its two concerts this week.
The Stones are booked in Europe through July. The band hopes to bring its 60th anniversary tour to the U.S. next year.
