How Sea Girls Celebrated Their First Arrival In America

Touring internationally is a huge moment in the career of any band.

London's-own Sea Girls recently toured the U.S. for the first time. For many of the four band members, it was their first time ever visiting America. That begs the question: what does a young band of Brits do when they arrive in New York for the first time?

Lead singer Henry Camamile recalled to Q104.3 New York's Out of the Box with Jonathan Clarke the first thing he and his band mates noticed on the nighttime drive from JFK to their accommodations in Brooklyn.

"Suddenly the lights popped out [in the distance]..." he said. "We listened to Bruce Springsteen as we drove over. We were listening to 'Atlantic City.'"

The boys of Sea Girls didn't get to do any sightseeing on that first night, but when they got up in the morning, their first mission was one that will put a smile on the face of many native New Yorkers.

"We got bagels in the morning," drummer Oli Khan added. "We went to Franco's deli."
