Christine McVie isn't making any bets on Fleetwood Mac's future.
The singer/songwriter and keyboardist says the band had a great time touring with Neil Finn and Mike Campbell during its last go-around in 2018 - 2019, but she says that line-up of the band essentially split before the coronavirus pandemic.
"Those guys were great," McVie told Rolling Stone of Finn and Campbell, during a new interview surrounding her new Songbird solo music collection. "We have a great time with them, but we've kind of broke up now, so I hardly ever see them."
As for the rest of the Fleetwood Mac band, McVie suggests there's distance between them, and it's complicated ... which of course is totally normal.
McVie admitted that while she and Stevie Nicks spent lots of time together on the last tour, and got along well during it, the two haven't been speaking "at all" since then.
Pressed on the future of Fleetwood Mac, McVie isn't sure whether it's still a band or not.
"I don't know. It's impossible to say," she said. "We might get back together, but I just couldn't say for sure."
McVie was similarly noncommittal about Fleetwood Mac's future during a BBC Radio interview given more than a year ago, though she did err more on the side of retirement in her comments.
"If we do, it will be without John [McVie] and Stevie, I think," she said of a potential Fleetwood Mac comeback. "I think I'm getting a bit too old for it now, especially having had a year off. I don't know if I can get myself back into it again."
Mick Fleetwood has been hopeful that the band can come to terms on another tour, while Nicks began performing live again this spring.
