Alex Lifeson has announced the launch of the LERXST family of amplifiers, inspired by his career of groundbreaking and tone-chasing with RUSH and beyond.
Designed by Mojotone to Lifeson's exacting specifications, LERXST offers guitarists a palette of sounds as diverse as those Lifeson has gotten out of countless amplifiers over more than 20 studio albums and 50 years in music.
“There has been an explosion of guitar music within the past five years that has been incredible to witness in its diversity of sounds and players," Lifeson said in a statement. "LERXST amplifiers provide a platform for these players that offers the power and quality of tone of the best amplifiers of the past, while also providing key features like power scaling and high-quality effects loops that reflect the needs of players today.”
Lifeson, who claims to have used more amplifiers "than Dr. Frankenstein did when breathing life into his creature," says his LERXST amps finally deliver everything he needs in one unit.
The initial launch, announced today (Thursday, November 30), includes the OMEGA amplifier head, CHI amplifier head and combo and an accompanying range of matching guitar cabinets in 1x12, 2x12 and 4x12 configurations.
