Listen To Peter Green Duet With David Gilmour On Classic Fleetwood Mac Song

Late Fleetwood Mac co-founder and guitarist Peter Green collaborated with Pink Floyd's David Gilmour on one of his final musical projects before his death last summer.

Green enlisted Gilmour, a longtime admirer, to play guitar on a previously unheard recording of "Need Your Love So Bad," a rhythm and blues classic that became a minor U.K. hit for Fleetwood Mac in 1968.

The revamped version of the song, which was originally recorded by Little Willie John in 1955, featured a home-recorded vocal tracked by Green that was tracked on a tape recorder back in '68.

The song is one of two singles included with ultra-limited and deluxe editions of Peter Green - The Albatross Man, Green's biography with Rufus Publishing slated for release in October. (the other single features Metallica's Kirk Hammett.)

Producer Laurie Latham helped arrange the new track with Gilmour around Green's original vocal performance. Gilmour provides acoustic guitar, lap steel guitar and electric guitar.

Hammett and Gilmour also took part in Mick Fleetwood's concert celebration of Peter Green and Fleetwood Mac's early years from last winter. Gilmour himself sat in for a rendition of "Albatross." A film of the star-studded gig premiered via Nugs.net on last week.
