Queen + Adam Lambert will be spending its September in sunny Las Vegas, performing 10 shows at the Park Theater at Park MGM. Tickets go on sale May 11 for the dates, which fall from September 1 - 22.
Queen made the announcement via a news release on the band's official website. Members of both Queen and Adam Lambert's Fan Clubs will be able to buy tickets in advance, starting May 8 at 10 a.m.
The band is calling the residency "The Crown Jewels" show. "We're ready to take on the ultimate challenge...to dazzle Vegas," guitarist Brian May said via the release.
"I'm so excited to help share 'The Crown Jewels' with the Strip," added Lambert. "You'll be humming them all night."
The shows are September 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, 14, 15, 19, 21 and 22. Each show begins at 8 p.m. Get more information here.
This year is a big one for Queen: the band was given Lifetime Achievement Honors by the GRAMMYs this winter and will finally release its long-awaited Bohemian Rhapsody biopic to theaters.
May says he and his Queen bandmate Roger Taylor have just one chance to make the film the right way.
"Eight years we've been working on getting it off the ground," the guitarist told TeamRock last year. "Roger and I — to some extent against our will — have hung in there for all this time. But finally we've arrived at a place where we have the right director and the right script and we feel good about it."
May says he hopes the film will "crystallize the way the world understands" the band's iconic original singer Freddie Mercury as a performer and a person.
