Ryan Fitzpatrick's contract ended Friday, signaling the end of his two-year stint as New York Jets quarterback.
Fitzpatrick joined the Jets in 2015 with the idea that the veteran Fitzpatrick would compete for the job with youngster Geno Smith.
But after Smith got hurt in a fight with a teammate, Fitzpatrick stepped into the starting role and had a career year in which he had one of the best seasons for a quarterback in the history of the Jets franchise.
The Jets finished that season one win shy of the playoffs.
This year (5-11) was miserable and Jets fans are wondering where the franchise will turn next.
