The "sexiest" male rock singer in history (also father to Francis Bean Cobain) passed away in 1994 at the age of 27.

According to a list compiled by The Top Tens, the hottest male rock singer of all time is Kurt Cobain. Cobain started Nirvana in 1987, less than a decade before his untimely death, and was known for his equivocal charisma and harsh tone.

Other rock stars that made the list include Axl Rose of Guns N' Roses, Jim Morrison of The Doors, Chris Cornell of Soundgarden, and Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin to round out the top five.

Here's what The Top Tens had to say about Cobain's life and legacy:

He was a talented yet troubled grunge performer. Kurt Cobain became a rock legend in the 1990s with his band. He committed suicide at his Seattle home in 1994."
