Watch The First Teaser For David Bowie Documentary 'Moonage Daydream'

The filmmakers of the definitive David Bowie documentary Moonage Daydream have unveiled the first teaser for the movie ahead of its inaugural screening at the Cannes Film Festival.

Moonage Daydream's first festival screening today (Monday, May 23) comes some five years after director Brett Morgan began working on it with the blessing of Bowie's estate.

Morgan was given unprecedented access to Bowie's film and audio archives in order to craft the documentary. True to Bowie's unique approach to his career in music and film, Moonage Daydream is billed as a "cinematic odyssey exploring David Bowie's creative and musical journey."

The teaser trailer begins with a voiceover summarizing the myriad questions Bowie provoked throughout his career, before cutting to a clip of Bowie himself offering his perspective on life and art.

"All people, no matter who they are, all wish they'd appreciated life more," says the singer. "It's what you do in life that's important, not how much time you have or what you wish you'd done."

Moonage Daydream is expected to get a worldwide premiere via HBO by early next year.
