Radcliffe's 'Lost City' Press Tour Has Become All About 'Weird' Al Biopic

Daniel Radcliffe has been making the talk show rounds these past several weeks promoting his new movie The Lost City, but despite that movie's star-studded cast, the conversation with Radcliffe has been dominated by another project of his — WEIRD: The Al Yankovic Story.

The Lost City is in theaters now, starring Radcliffe alongside Sandra Bullock, Channing Tatum, Da'Vine Joy Randolph and Brad Pitt, yet at each stop on Radcliffe's press tour, the Harry Potter star has been asked to talk about the forthcoming "Weird" Al Yankovic biopic.

Yankovic himself has chronicled several of Radcliffe's talk show appearances via Instagram, including his chats with Good Morning America, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The View.

"I'd like to thank the producers of @LostCityMovie for inadvertently funding an unofficial press tour for #WEIRDTheAlYankovicStory ... and of course the amazing Mr. Radcliffe, who is, in fact, the nicest human," Yankovic wrote in his latest post on the subject.

The "Weird" Al movie was announced in January by Roku, with Radcliffe confirmed as the lead actor. Filming was completed over about two-and-a-half weeks in February. There is no timetable yet for when the film will be released, though Radcliffe says he hopes it will arrive by late this year.

"It was an incredibly fast shoot — it was like 18 days — but it was one of the most fun things I've ever done in my life," Radcliffe told The View.

During his conversation with Fallon, Radcliffe said WEIRD was one of the few films of his that he's ever been excited to see in theaters. He added that "It's a fully insane movie."

Radcliffe says Yankovic zeroed in on him as the potential lead for his biopic after seeing him sing on the Graham Norton Show more than a decade ago. The two had never met before Radcliffe was offered the part.

Radcliffe even took accordion lessons to prepare for the role.
