One teen’s big day took a scandalous turn after her family posted a yard sign for her 18th birthday celebration that unintentionally made it seem that they were throwing a sex orgy.
A tweet read “My brother’s neighbor got a birthday sign in their yard and i’m DEAD,” which has accumulated nearly 58,000 likes since Sunday.
The extravagant lawn display was meant to commemorate the 18th birthday of a teen named Morgyn. However, the glitter-bedazzled first and last letters of her name were virtually invisible, so it appeared as if they’d written “orgy” instead.
If that wasn’t bad enough, the “18” decoration sat next to a partially obscured cross that resembled a plus sign, a gaffe that made it seem like the sexy soiree was for adults only.
And that’s all it took to set the Twitter on fire.
“Happy 18th orgy,” quipped one person.
“Extremely irresponsible to host an 18+ birthday orgy during a pandemic,” joked another in reference to the coronavirus lockdown.
“It’s even better because it looks like 18+ and they’re specifying no minors for the orgy,” observed one commenter.
However, other Twitter users were more understanding of the mishap. “That’s what happens when you spell Morgan with a Y,” wrote a social-media sympathizer. “Honestly I’m surprised more people don’t do it.”
