If and when Netflix’s wildly popular docuseries “Tiger King” heads to the big screen, Kevin Bacon is more than willing to play the Tiger King himself Joe Exotic. The actor was recently named oddsmakers' top pick to bring Exotic to life, and speaking on “Today’s” Third Hour, Bacon says he’d do it “in a second.’
“This is my type of guy,” Bacon tells “Today” when asked if he’d consider playing the incarcerated jack-of-all-trades on the big screen. In fact, he’s already thought about iit before, when his wife, actress Kyra Sedgwick, asked him one day why he was even watching the docuseries.
“This an amazing show, I said, ‘I’m watching this show because there are the kind of characters I get asked to play,’” he recalls. ‘This is my type of guy, you know, so listen, fingers crossed!”
