RUSH's Alex Lifeson In Self-Quarantine After Returning From Vacation

32nd Annual Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony - Show

Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson will spend the next 14 days in self-quarantine to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, which has put nearly the entire world at a standstill.

Lifeson was vacationing with family as COVID-19 began to spread in North America.

"Just returned from Spring Break with my [grandkids]," Lifeson announced via Twitter on Sunday. "We are self quarantining for 14 days. All travelers should. Looking forward to getting caught up on Netflix!! Send your top viewing suggestions."

Lifeson's home province of Ontario, Canada, has the highest concentration of COVID-19 cases in the country. Infectious disease experts note that social distancing is the best way to slow down the spread of the disease and keep hospitals from being overwhelmed.

The disease has put an incredible strain on global healthcare systems, having infected at least 169,000 people and killed around 6,000 worldwide.

The Centers for Disease Control recommended there be no gatherings of more than 50 people in the U.S. for the next eight weeks.
