Take Me To The Movies: Toy Story 4

“Toy Story 4”

No sequelitis here! It’s amazing a 24 year old franchise can still be so fresh and funny. I loved this every bit as much as the first. All our favorites are back with the addition of Tony Hale (“Arrested Development,” “Veep”) voicing a brand new character. Then there’s the magical “Key & Peele” reunion with Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele voicing best buds “Ducky” & “Bunny.” Parents will love this every bit as much as the kids…and a perfect running time for every age: 90 minutes. Plus a great soundtrack that includes “Blitzkrieg Bop,” “God Only Knows,” “Livin’ Thing” and “Both Sides Now.”

“Child’s Play”

A reboot of the slasher franchise, starring Aubrey Plaza (‘Parks and Recreation,’ FX’s ‘Legion’) Brian Tyree Henry (FX’s ‘Atlanta,’ ‘If Beale Street Could Talk’) and Mark Hamill in his other notable role, that of voice over legend. He portrays the newer, fresh faced “Chucky.” It’s contemporary re-imagining of the 1988 horror classic: a single mom who gives her son a high-tech “smart” doll, unaware that its safety programming has been tampered with. It's currently getting 67% on Rotten Tomatoes- all things considered, not that bad for a movie like this...
