“Christopher Robin”

A PG Disney part-live and part-animated “Winnie The Pooh” sequel action starring Ewan McGregor as the grown up Christopher who has lost his way after a childhood of adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with his band of loveable stuffed animals. Jim Cummings voices Pooh. There are some sad moments and some potty humor. It's getting 60% on Rotten Tomatoes.

“The Spy Who Dumped Me”

A spy farcer starring Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon as 30 year old BFF’s in L.A. who are thrust into international espionage when Mila’s ex shows up with a team of deadly assassins on his tail. Gillian Anderson and Justin Theroux (Jennifer Aniston’s ex-hubby) co-star. It’s getting just 40% on Rotten Tomatoes with complaints of a lack of chemistry between Kunis & McKinnon. McKinnon gets high marks though.

“The Darkest Minds”

A YA’er for the “Stranger Things” & “X-Men” crowd. A pandemic has killed 90% of children and the surviving get mutant powers, which adults see as a threat. So the adults want to kill or imprison ‘em. The star is Amandla Stenberg, who was Katniss’ doomed ally in the 1st “Hunger Games.” This time, she gets the Katniss role. Mandy Moore is in it. Bradley Whitford of “The West Wing” gets to be back in the White House, except now he plays the President. It’s based on a book trilogy so get ready for 2 more movies.
