Dave Mustaine: 'I Think Rock Hall Is Opposed Of Me Being In There'

Megadeth's Dave Mustaine opened up on Twitter about his belief that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is opposed to the frontman being inducted into the institution after a fan said it was "pastime".

Metallica, which Mustaine was a member from 1981 to 1982, were inducted into the Rock Hall in 2009 but Mustaine chose not to attend the ceremony due to touring arraignments in Europe. In his recent tweets, Mustaine accused the institution's board of not wanting Megadeth inducted, saying the Rock Hall had something against him. He also said that being inducted and winning a Grammy are on his "Bucket List" of things to do.

In an interview with Noisey last year, Mustaine said he was hoping that he would be inducted and added: "if they don't want me in there, it's okay. I mean, I am in there vis-à-vis Metallica, and no matter what those guys say or what anybody believes about their induction ceremony, they wouldn't have been there if it wasn't for me being in the band, because I was there in the beginning, so I have some satisfaction."

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich explained why the band chose not to include Mustaine in their induction during a 2009 interview with Plain Dealer. "You've got to kind of cap it somewhere," the drummer said. "Dave Mustaine never played on any Metallica records. No disrespect to him. But there [were] half a dozen other people that were in the lineup in the early days."
