Wolfgang Van Halen Cancels Remaining Mammoth WVH Tour Dates Due To COVID

Mammoth WVH is bowing out of the 'Young Guns' tour six shows early after members of the band and crew tested positive for COVID this week.

Wolfgang Van Halen spent Sunday at the GRAMMYs with his mother and girlfriend while the rest of his touring party remained in North Carolina, preparing for the next stop on the tour with Dirty Honey in Charlotte tonight, Wednesday, April 6.

As a matter of procedure, every band and crew member took a COVID test to re-establish the tour's bubble.

"...[W]e came to find that members of our band and crew who didn't travel with me were positive," Wolfgang explained in a statement released late Tuesday. "I have tested negative via rapid and PCR tests for the last 5 days in preparation for the GRAMMYs and still continue to do so.

"With only six shows left in the tour, it breaks my heart that we unfortunately won't be able to continue. Mammoth WVH will do our very best to make up the dates that we missed to the fans in those markets in the future."

Dirty Honey will continue with the tour as scheduled.

The CDC recommends people who test positive for COVID quarantine for five full days. Under those guidelines, Mammoth WVH would be ruled out for all but one of its remaining performances — and that's only if everyone's symptoms resolve in time and there are no more positive tests.

Mammoth WVH gets back on the road in May. Get all the tour dates here.
