See The Trailer For Upcoming Bruce Springsteen & E Street Band Documentary

Bruce Springsteen has released films accompanying his last two major projects and he's not about to stop now with the latest from himself and the E Street Band.

The Boss followed his Tony Award-winning Springsteen on Broadway show with the hugely popular Netflix special. His solo album, Western Stars, last year came with an accompanying concert film.

So with his forthcoming Letter To You album, Springsteen is teasing a documentary on the LP, which will premiere exclusively on Apple TV on Oct. 23, the day the record is released.

Directed by Thom Zimny, the Letter To You film captures Springsteen and the E Street Band recording live in the studio together for the first time in 35 years. There are full performances from the band, never-before-seen archival material and deep thoughts from Springsteen himself about the new batch of songs.

The teaser clip, released Tuesday, which you can watch above, depicts a familiar scene for any musician: a dispute over a song arrangement.

Springsteen wrote the new songs for Letter To You in a period of less than two weeks in 2019, using a guitar that was given to him by a fan following a Springsteen on Broadway performance.

Springsteen and the E Street Band arranged and recorded the album live at the Boss's home New Jersey studio over the course of five days, with no overdubs.

In addition to the new songs, Letter To You includes three Springsteen tracks that were written in the early-'70s but never officially released, "Janey Needs a Shooter," "If I Was the Priest" and "Song for Orphans."
