Sears ran this goofy commercial for over a decade, and '90s kids will always remember it as a sign of summer.
Was it funny? No. Was the acting good? GOD NO! Why did Sears use it for so long? No one knows.
But you might remember summer days from the last decade (or the one before) when it was too hot to be outside and you were just laying around your house, watching TV. This commercial comes on, and you feel just like that woman standing in front of an open freezer.
And just like her, you look at her husband and you wonder, "Call now?! You're drenched in sweat reading a newspaper! Your family is suffering! Why did you even let it get to this point?!"
But you later ask, Why can't this lady call herself? It doesn't look like she's busy today; she's standing in front of her freezer
I bet you the only reason they retired this commercial was because he was getting his weather from a newspaper.
