A few years before Lady Gaga got her big break, she was covering Led Zeppelin's "D'yer Mak'er" at one of New York City's most iconic nightclubs, The Bitter End.
Performing under her birth name, Stefani Germanotta, the future Gaga -- already a powerhouse vocalist -- and her band pull of a near note-perfect version of the tune.
"D'yer Mak'er" is one of Zeppelin's more outside-the-box tunes. With its dub/reggae feel, it's certainly well-suited for a pop artist. But there's also an interesting connection between the song and Gaga.
The pop superstar was born March 28, 1986, which is 13 years after Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy album was released in the United States. "D'yer Mak'er" is track number six on that album. It's one of very few Led Zeppelin songs on which all four members of the band share writing credits.
Making this footage even more interesting, this was the night Gaga was 'discovered.' After a talent scout saw her at this show, Gaga was signed and began working on her smash hit debut!
Happy birthday, Houses of the Holy! Happy birthday, Lady Gaga!
