Everyone Is Pissed at How Metallica Was Treated at the Grammys

Metallica fans were dubious about the band's Grammys collaboration with Lady Gaga, but they still tuned in to the show.

Some thought it might be cool; Gaga is a legitimate artist and fan of the band and Metallica hasn't appeared on the Grammys stage since 2014.

Others just screamed something along the lines of 'Death to pop music! Death to posers!'

Those people were validated in a manner that was truly stunning, even for the Grammys. The awards show that once awarded Jethro Tull a Grammy for Best Metal Performance instead of Metallica.

The Grammys didn't just screw up Metallica's appearance on their show, they actually managed to ignore it altogether!

First actress/reality TV star Laverne Cox (someone no Metallica fan would know) was tasked with introducing the band. But she only never even mentioned Metallica!

To her credit, she later apologized via Twitter.

Cox's reference to "eight time Grammy-award winners" was one to Metallica, so their name may have been in the copy, but we may never know.

But okay. Forgetting their name would have been excusable (Lady Gaga is very exciting) were it not for the fact that James Hetfield's mic was off for the first half of their song, "Moth Into Flame."

He understandably reacted like this when the performance was through:

There has been no mention of the debacle on any of Metallica's social media, just that they're going on tour this summer.

But Metallica doesn't have to say anything because fans are doing plenty of talking for them. Fans like Jim Breuer, who is demanding an apology from the Grammys.

Eddie Trunk was apoplectic at the snub:

Ali Spagnola made a good point about Gaga's attire. At least something at the Grammys said "Metallica!"

Lavalier microphones for a comedy bit involving host James Corden's parents worked fine, just not the ones on the stage while Metallica was performing.

Adele stopped her song for George Michael and started over.

There was still no stopping Metallica.
