Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Billy Joel, Sting and Jon Bon Jovi are lending a helping hand to New York City's hungry with the Robin Hood: Rise Up New York! COVID-19 relief benefit virtual telethon on Monday, May 11, at 7 p.m.
The show will bring Joel, Sting and Bon Jovi together with some of the Big Apple's most consequential celebrities with one goal: to support Robin Hood's relief and recovery efforts, which are deployed directly to organizations on the front lines that service the city's most vulnerable during the current crisis and in its aftermath.
Furthermore, 100 percent of donations will provide support for food, shelter, cash assistance, health and mental health, legal services, education and more, helping New Yorkers rebuild their lives as they city recovers.
"New York City is at the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic. This crisis has created a whole new set of challenges for the millions of New Yorkers who already struggled to make ends meet," said Robin Hood CEO Wes Moore. "This is a moment where we must all come together and rise up together as a community in support of our neighbors and in support of one another."
The one-hour benefit special will be hosted by Tina Fey and simultaneously broadcast on Q104.3 New York, Z100, 106.7 Lite FM, 103.5 KTU, 710 WOR and Power 105.1!
Also appearing on Robin Hood: Rise Up New York! are Governor Andrew Cuomo, Barbara Streisand, Bette Midler, Mayor Bill de Blasio, Chris Rock, Jack Gyllenhaal, Jennifer Lopez, Jimmy Fallon, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Spike Lee, Trevor Noah, Eli Manning, Michael Strahan and others.
