WATCH: Blackberry Smoke cover The Allman Brothers classic "Midnight Rider"
This June 2020, our good friends in Blackberry Smoke will release Live From Capricorn Studios, an EP made up of covers that the band recorded at the legendary Macon, Georgia studio. Proceeds from sales will go toward MusiCares' COVID-19 Relief Fund.
One of the songs the band recorded is the Allman Brothers classic “Midnight Rider,” which features the band's Charlie Starr playing Duane Allman’s legendary gold-top Les Paul guitar. The cover comes on the anniversary of the formation of The Allman Brothers Band (Mar. 26, 1969) and the release anniversary of “Midnight Rider” (Mar. 26, 1971). Check out the video above!
And watch below Blackberry Smoke's in studio session with Jonathan Clarke for "Out Of The Box" back in late 2018. Interview with two songs performed live.
