Being siblings and being in a band can be frustrating, just look at The Kinks, Oasis, The Black Crowes, the list goes on.
But that hasn't stopped Zach and Georgia Hurd from giving it a try in Bay Ledges, a beach-y, upbeat, acoustic guitar-driven pop act.
The Hurds grew up in Maine, harmonizing, exploring the arts and enjoying the state's unique forests, lakes, and gravel beaches, they tell Q104.3 New York's "Out of the Box" with Jonathan Clarke.
Zach moved out first, heading to New York City to work on his songwriting. Then Georgia left Maine for Venice Beach, where she pursued acting.
When Zach decided to follow, he at least knew he had a place to stay: the couch at his sister's apartment.
"I lived with Georgia for a while and then started this Bay Ledges project just to do something that was different from the acoustic singer/songwriter thing," Zach says.
Bay Ledges performed two songs for "Out of the Box": "Safe" and "Mango." Check out the full interview and performance above!
