Soundgarden Frontman Chris Cornell Dies At 52

This is just unfathomable. One of our good friends, Chris Cornell, lead singer of Soundgarden, passed away unexpectedly and suddenly after a Soundgarden show with The Pretty Reckless and Dillinger Escape Plan in Detroit. Cornell had a distinctive 4 octave vocal range and was one of the architects of the Seattle "grunge" movement. His family will be working closely with the medical examiner there to determine the cause of death. He was 52. Chris came by Q1043 a number of times over the years. Below is an interview I did with him at NYC's Irving Plaza (then called The Fillmore) back in 2007.
