Chad and Mike Kroeger of Nickelback sat down with Q104.3 New York's Jonathan Clarke for an "Out of the Box" session to discuss the band's new album, Feed the Machine, Chad's recent health scare and their incredible run as one of the top-selling rock bands of their generation.
In 2015, Chad had to undergo surgery to remove a cyst on his voice box. The issue sidelined him for several months, But Kroeger says there are no lingering effects.
"I still sound like the dick from Nickelback," he joked of how the issue has affected his ability to perform.
Chad continued, saying how difficult it was to have to cancel shows because of the problem.
"You never want that to happen. But what's worse, is you never want that to happen mid-tour [which it did], when you've got to, like, tell half the world that's already got tickets to your show that you won't be showing up to their town. That's a bummer, and it's all your fault."
