Interview: Missio Talk Flipping the Bird, Instagram Models, 'Loner' and More

Austin, Texas-based alternative band Missio came out of this year's South By Southwest with a tangible buzz, thanks in part to their awesome new single, "Middle Fingers."

Members Matthew Brue and David Butler dropped by "Out of the Box" with Jonathan Clarke to talk about the early success of their song and their forthcoming album, Loner, available May 19.

Of "Middle Fingers," Brue says, "This was the first song that David and I actually co-wrote...so we sat down and, sort of, brainstormed lyrical ideas...It's all, a little bit, disassociated thoughts that pissed us off."

The song's airplay has been gratifying, on its own, but Butler says one of the best things about "Middle Fingers" is when they get to perform it live.

"It feels weird to say it fills us up to have an entire crowd flip you off at the same time, but it really is the best feeling in the world...it unifies people."

Keep up with Missio on tour via their Facebook page and their official website here.
