Singer/songwriter Mondo Cozmo dropped by "Out of the Box" with Jonathan Clarke to talk about his new project.
Mondo Cozmo, aka Josh Ostrander, first played under his new moniker last fall. Since then things have happened extremely fast, he says. The band has performed the new song "Shine" on late night TV, they did a flurry of sets at the recent South By Southwest Festival and now they're on tour with Bastille.
"I'm just excited, man," he says. "I'm so humbled and honored..."
Josh tells JC about how he came up with the Mondo Cozmo name after moving on from Eastern Conference Champions, setting up a phone line for fans to leave him direct messages and the merits of playing New York City versus Los Angeles.
Josh also recently recorded a version of "Ooh La La" by Rod Stewart. He says he received great feedback from Stewart's camp and is excited for what may come next.
