Simon Kirke, the legendary drummer for Bad Company and Free, joined "Out of the Box" to discuss his new solo album, All Because of You, and to preview his still-unfinished rock and roll autobiography.
"I have written a book," Kirke confesses to Jonathan Clarke. "I've yet to settle on a permanent title. It's still a work in progress because there are still chapters to be written. I'm not done yet. There are some great stories."
Kirke indulged the show with some anecdotes from his youth, sharing a few brief stories about the likes of Jimmy Page, Wilson Pickett, Keith Richards, Ringo Starr, Chuck Berry and others!
And while we'll have to keep waiting on the book, Kirke brought us his terrific new solo album to tide us over.
He says All Because of You is a collection of new songs, some old ones, some that were never released and an acoustic, ukulele-driven version of Bad Company's "Feel Like Making Love" with Josh Solomon and Erika Brett, of his backing band, The Empty Pockets.
Watch he and Jonathan talk about the new music, the future book, the old times and The Empty Pockets below!
