Shelli Sonstein Takes us to the Movies

“Blackbird”… opens in theaters and streaming , Director Roger Michelle guests on “Sonstein Sunday” at 7Am. What a cast but also what a dreary topic. Oscar winners Susan Sarandon AND Kate Winslet star along with Sam Neil , Rainn Wilson and Mia Waskowski. Sarandon plays the family matriarch, who has called her family together for a weekend before she ends her life before she becomes incapacitated with ALS.  You can’t get a much better cast. And you won’t be able to avoid the question: what would YOU do?

3 Hearts

“The Nest” is also opening in theaters and limited streaming with Jude Law (who in real life, just welcomed his SIXTH(!!!) . Set in the 80’s, he plays a rich guy who convinces his American wife & family to move to a centuries-old country manor, where the family unravels . The mystery/thriller gets 85% on Rotten Tomatoes.

It looks like the next big blockbuster that’ll try to make a go in theaters is the latest James Bond film, set for release November 20th .  Scarlett Johansson’s “Black Widow” was supposed to open November 6th but word is it’ll be pushed to a later date, with so many theaters still closed, others just at 25% capacity and moviegoers apparently not feeling safe yet to return to theaters. “Wonder Woman 1984” was supposed to open next month but now it’s pushed off until late December. This, after the disappointing U.S. box office of Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet”, the first blockbuster to open since March.
