A coming of ager in a nunnery??? In a nutshell, that’s the gist of the new film “Novitiate”, which, trust me, Melissa Leo WILL be Oscar-nominated as the Mother Superior. Writer/director Maggie Betts joins me on “Sonstein Sunday” @ 7 am. It’s set in the late 50’s/early 60’s as the Catholic Church was undergoing a sea change. Margaret Qualley of “The Leftovers” stars. Julianne Nicholson (“Boardwalk Empire”) plays her mom.
