Global Citizen Festival Honors Annie Lennox

It's not every day that a star of Annie Lennox caliber shows up at the station. It's also not every day that Global Citizen hands out prestigious awards. In fact, they haven't. This is the first time. Which she calls a privilege. Annie was given the first ever George Harrison Global Citizen Award on Monday.

From her start in The Tourists, to international fame with the Eurythmics and later in her solo career, Annie has never shied away from causes. She agreed with Jim when he called her an philanthropic activist: an activist and advocate for things in our world that are very near and dear to her heart.

Speaking of the Eurythmics, Annie almost gave up before writing Sweet Dreams. She told us how that song came together. That's a life lesson right there; never give up!
