Elton John made his first public appearance since his recent hospitalization and told fans he's "feeling very well."
John gave the good news an appearance Monday at the Cannes Film Festival in France during which he awarded the winners of a recent YouTube contest.
The singer cancelled several Las Vegas shows last month after being hospitalized upon returning from South America, reports The Daily Mirror, which also noted John was looking slimmer than when he was last seen on stage.
John was returning to England from Santiago, Chile, at the end of April when he became "violently ill" from a "potentially deadly" bacterial infection.
After spending 12 days in a British hospital, John was told to rest as much as possible.
His recovery comes at an opportune time, as he's set to begin touring again in June.
