We're getting another peak at the upcoming Grateful Dead documentary, Long Strange Trip, a film that explores the band's 30-plus year career, the paths of its members and associates and the group's cultural impact.
Directed by Amir Bar-Lev with executive producer Martin Scorsese, the film has a running time of nearly four hours -- nearly as long as a Dead show!
The documentary's Sundance Film Festival debut in January drew wide critical praise, even from non-Dead Head reviewers.
Amazon Video will host nationwide screenings of the film May 25 in New York and May 26 in Los Angeles, followed by a week-long theatrical release. The film will then be made available June 2 to Amazon Prime members.
