Does 5-8-77 Have A Special Meaning To You?

Out of the thousands of shows the Dead performed, out of the hundreds of thousand hours the Dead performed, one show, one 2 hour set, stands above the rest!

The May 8, 1977, show at Cornell University in Ithica, New York on what some describe as a freakishly snowy night. The show is so revered by Deadheads that the recording is held by the Library of Congress.

Well today we celebrate the 40th anniversary of that legendary show! At Cornell, they're literally shouting it from the bell tower. They'll be ringing out Grateful Dead tunes on the bells.
