Finland Preps Epic Welcome for KISS

Helsinki plans to decorate one of its landmarks in KISS attire in celebration of the band's upcoming tour dates in Finland.

The country's famous Men Of Rock statues, located at the Helsinki Central Railway Station, are being outfitted with masks depicting the band's trademark black and white face paint for when KISS arrives for its May 4 concert, reports Lonely Planet

Each mask is 5-feet tall in order to fit the massive sculptures, which are seen by thousands of travelers every day. Next week, many of those travelers will be in town for the show.

The masks were painted this week and are due to go up Friday. They will remain on display until May 5.

Hard rock and heavy metal are mainstream in many Northern European countries, including Finland. KISS' image has had an indelible impact on that culture.

Some fans have posted photos of the Men of Rock masks to social media.
