"The Simpsons" and its star, Homer Simpson, are going to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
The Baseball Hall of Fame announced this week that it will pay tribute to one of the show's most memorable episodes, "Homer at the Bat," which first aired 25 years ago.
The episode features a plot in which Homer joins the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant softball team and included many of Major League Baseballs biggest stars at the time.
The Hall of Fame says Homer will join co-stars from the episode, like Ken Griffey Jr., Ozzie Smith and Wade Boggs, at a ceremony on May 27 in Cooperstown. The ensuing ceremony will celebrate the cartoon series' impact on baseball and American culture.
