Iceland's President Isn't A Fan Of Pineapple Pizza

The President has started a new war with the people of the internet. This time against those who like and hate pineapple toppings on pizza. Well it's nice to see that a different President starting a flame war on the internet.

Speaking at a high school, Icelandic President Guðni Th. Jóhannesson told students he was “fundamentally opposed” to putting pineapple on pizza.

The response was so swift, Mr Jóhannesson was forced to clarify that he was glad he didn’t have the power to ban tropical pizza toppings.

Writing on Facebook he said, "I like pineapples, just not on pizza. I do not have the power to make laws which forbid people to put pineapples on their pizza. I am glad that I do not hold such power."

Maybe Iceland is the new land of the free?

He continued, “Presidents should not have unlimited power. I would not want to hold this position if I could pass laws forbidding that which I don't like. I would not want to live in such a country."

Mr Jóhannesson's pizza topping of choice, "seafood", he wrote.

Honestly, I have no idea why we should be taking ANY food tips from Iceland. Their national dish is Rotted Shark. Yes. Rotted Shark.

For what it's worth, he does have some fans:

Somehow I don't think these guys would agree:
