Two more rock icons have received their COVID-19 vaccines.
Kiss frontman Paul Stanley and Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi both confirmed this week that they had been inoculated.
Stanley announced via Twitter on Tuesday that he had received his second COVID-19 shot.
"I got my SECOND COVID SHOT this morning!" he wrote. "So grateful and THRILLED. PLEASE, let's ALL stay safe as possible and continue to watch out for each other."
Iommi, a cancer survivor, told Consequence of Sound that he got the COVID-19 shot recently after a routine checkup with his doctor.
"...I feel fine and everything seems to be — touch wood — going all right at the moment," the guitarist said of his health.
Kiss was forced to cancel a tour of Australia in the fall of 2019 after Stanley was sidelined with severe complications from the flu. Since the pandemic shutdowns started in the U.S., Stanley has used social media to urge people to take steps to reduce their COVID risk.
Kiss plans to resume its 'End of the Road' farewell tour this year, provided the world gets a break from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Iommi has spent most of the past year at his home in England. He's started giving interviews again as Black Sabbath promotes the forthcoming deluxe editions of its Ronnie James Dio-era albums, Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules.
Beyond working on new music, Iommi has also been keeping busy by staying in touch with his friends, namely Ozzy Osbourne, who received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine last week.
