Elton John Announces Biography To Tell "The Truth" About His Life

Elton John has an autobiography in the works, which he expects to be released later this year.

The music icon says his "first and only autobiography" will tell the "truth" of his life.

"My life has been one helluva roller coaster ride and I'm now ready to tell you my story, in my own words," read the caption of a video in which he announced the news.

Sir Elton continued that many books have been written about him, but none of them have been "exactly truthful."

He concluded that he "can't wait for you to see what I have to say about my life."

John first revealed plans for the memoir two years ago. At the time he called it a "cathartic" exercise for someone who tends to always look forward to his "next gig or creative project." The title of the memoir has yet to be announced.

John's publisher, Macmillan's Henry Holt & Co., indicated that the tome will be coming out in October.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is in the midst of his expansive "Farewell, Yellow Brick Road" farewell tour.

An Elton John biopic called Rocketman, which stars Taron Egerton, is coming this summer.
