Upon learning the news of Asia frontman John Wetton's death at age 67 due to cancer, Eric Clapton picked up his guitar.
Rather than release a statement in text like many others, the guitarist recorded a 1:38 guitar improvisation in memory of his friend and contemporary. You can listen to it at the bottom of this post.
Wetton was the lead singer and bass player for the supergroup Asia. He was also known for his work with King Crimson, Roxy Music and Uriah Heep.

The guitarist plans to get back on the road this year, with dates in March at Madison Square Garden.
