It's National Black Dog Day!
No, it;s not the day that we honor the Led Zeppelin song with the badass John Bonham solo (even though we totally should), rather on this day we encourage adopting dogs of the darker shade. Black Dogs are less likely to be adopted just because of their coloring. It's true, on average a black dog is less likely to be adopted when in the company of dogs of a lighter fur, mostly because some deem them to be aggressive, but you'll find their behavior is no different from any other dog.
They fetch, play, and come in short hair, long-hair and shaggy breeds, big paws and little paws, and every shape and size, so if you want to add a dog to your life, they're just as loyal as any other dog. Visit a shelter and take a black dog for a walk, and who knows, maybe they'll be a Zep fan too and you can both rock out to the song!
