A Weekend Of Sequels: 'The Nun 2' & 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3'

The Nun 2…only in theaters, this is a sequel to the 2018 hit with Taissa Farmiga returning as Sister Irene to the rescue after a priest is murdered and an evil spirit spreads. Taissa is the daughter of The Conjuring horror queen Vera Farmiga, who had a role in the original nun movie. Like mother, like daughter!!! Horror queen and horror princess. Trevor was terrified when a group of nuns in masks showed up on our floor to promote this movie last week. Critics are pretty much calling this sequel a sin. One says, it’s bigger & busier than the original but can’t atone for its narrative sins. Another says it’s a demonic dud.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3…21 years after the original, Nia Vardolas is still at it with this franchise: starring; writing; directing and co-producing with Tom Hanks and his wife, Rita Wilson. John Corbett returns. NSYNC’s Joey Fatone also returns. I’m not hearing great things. One critic said “good things don’t always come in threes."

Big heads up: Barbie starts streaming Tuesday for $25 on Amazon Prime, Apple tv-plus and Google Play.
