Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne announced earlier this year that after spending the better part of the last 40 years in America, they are moving back to the U.K.

Speaking of the decision late this past winter, Ozzy named California's high taxes as part of the couple's motivation. In a new interview with the Observer, Ozzy admitted that there are other reasons he doesn't feel such a strong connection to America at this point in his life.

"Everything's f---ing ridiculous there," the Prince of Darkness added. "I'm fed up with people getting killed every day. God knows how many people have been shot in school shootings. And there was that mass shooting in Vegas at that concert... It's f---ing crazy."

Ozzy added that when he considers his end of life plan, he wants to be in the country where he was born.

"And I don't want to die in America," he said. "I don't want to be buried in f---ing Forest Lawn [cemetery in L.A.]. I'm English. I want to be back. But saying that, if my wife said we've got to go and live in Timbuktu, I'll go. But, no, it's just time for me to come home."

For all his health issues in recent years, Ozzy doesn't believe his death is imminent. After making a surprise appearance this month with Black Sabbath cofounder Tony Iommi at the 2022 Commonwealth Games closing ceremonies, Ozzy reiterated that his main focus is getting healthy enough to tour again, which he hopes will be by this winter.

Sharon added that Ozzy's health is not a factor in their repatriation, but America's political turmoil is.

"It's just time," she said. "America has changed so dramatically. It isn't the United States of America at all. Nothing's united about it. It's a very weird place to live right now."

The couple plans to move to a historic home in Buckinghamshire, which is currently being renovated.
