Three days after undergoing major surgery to realign pins implanted in his neck and back, Ozzy Osbourne has issued an update for his concerned fans.

"I am now home from the hospital recuperating comfortably," the Prince of Darkness wrote in a statement shared through his social media. "I am definitely feeling the love and support from all my fans and send everyone a big thank you for their thoughts, prayers and well wishes during my recovery."

Ozzy's wife Sharon Osbourne delivered a statement Tuesday, saying that the surgery was successful and that her husband was beginning the long "road to recovery."

"Your love means the world to him," she said.

The procedure Monday was at least the third spinal operation Ozzy has gone through since injuring his neck in a trip-and-fall in 2019. Ozzy recalls being in such agony after the injury that he was certain he was going to die.

He hopes that this latest procedure is the one that finally allows him to get back onstage after years of not being able to "walk properly."

Sharon has said the surgery and Ozzy's upcoming rehab will "determine the rest of his life."

Ozzy will reportedly need around-the-clock care from a nurse for several weeks before he's able to begin rehabilitation. He has not performed a full concert since 2018, though he's made two new studio albums since his injury in 2019.

The Black Sabbath cofounder and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer's 13th solo album is expected to arrive in September.
