Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry isn't letting the band's recent Las Vegas residency postponements keep him from getting back onstage this summer.

Perry just announced a trio of solo gigs this July, his first solo shows in about four years.

The Joe Perry Project is coming to the Hampton Beach Casino in New Hampshire on Thursday, July 21; the Leader Bank Pavilion in Boston on Friday, July 22 (opening for ZZ Top); and the Hard Rock Casino in Atlantic City on Saturday, July 23.

"Since my scheduled has freed up and we have a slot of time to play some shows, I wanted to jump on that opportunity," Perry said in a statement. "Aside from the obvious, terrible effects the pandemic brought with it, I missed being on the road. However, it is actually the first time that myself and my wife Billie were able to sleep in our own bed for this long of a period without having to think about packing our bags. So it has been a new experience for us.

"Now, I'm really excited to do these shows, especially with this lineup of the Joe Perry Project: Buck Johnson on keyboards, Joe Pet on drums, Chris Wyse on bass guitar and the incredible Gary Cherone on vocals."

Aerosmith called off the summer portion of its 2022 Las Vegas residency this spring after Steven Tyler checked himself into rehab. The band plans to pick up where it left off in September.

Until then, Perry will be free to play as many solo gigs as he can. The legendary guitarist's last scheduled solo tour in the fall of 2018 was canceled after he was rushed to the hospital with a breathing issue a few weeks prior.
