A man seen threatening bystanders with two large knives in the East Village was apprehended by NYPD officers Friday morning without injury, police said.

Police received calls around 9 a.m. Friday about a man armed with a knife. Officers found the suspect waving two blades near the corner of East Houston Street and Bowery.

The man fled after being approached by officers. During the course of a brief foot chase, one officer fired a round at the man. A second officer fired a Taser. Both shots missed.
