Doctor To NYC Teacher's Union: "Don't Kill People" Is The Top Priority

Dr. Arthur Caplan, professor of bioethics at NYU Langone Medical Center says New York City's teacher's union doesn't appear to have a case in their opposition to the city's "get vaccinated or lose your job" mandate, which is supposed to go into effect September 27th. Appearing on Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning, he says that "the authority is there to mandate vaccination as a condition of employment.”

Caplan says the city is following the lead of many large companies that have vaccinations as a condition of employment. "You don't want to be shutting down the schools, so let's get everybody who can be vaccinated vaccinated."

While the teacher's union is expected to fight the decision, Caplan adds that "don't kill people" should be the primary focus. Host Len Berman complemented that point, saying that even the New York Islanders hockey team has issued a mandate to its players to get vaccinated.
