Judge Blocks Teacher Vaccine Mandate In NYC

A New York City judge has temporarily blocked Mayor de Blasio’s requirement that all Department of Education employees be vaccinated.

Before the ruling, Mayor de Blasio spoke about the importance of having teachers vaccinated.

“We know that when all the adults in the building are vaccinated, it keeps everyone safe and it helps move us forward and allows us to do the amazing things that we're going to be doing to reach our kids this year in a whole different way,” de Blasio said.

Under the mayor’s order, school employees had until September 27th to get their first dose of the vaccine.
