JAY-Z, Foo Fighters & Mary J. Blige Among 2021 Rock Hall Of Fame Noms

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame announced its nominees for the class of 2021.

On Wednesday (February 10), the batch of potential honorees were released and it features a diverse list of acts, including Mary J. Blige, Kate Bush, Devo, Foo Fighters, The Go-Go's, Iron Maiden, JAY-Z, Chaka Khan, Carole King, Fela Kuti, LL Cool J, New York Dolls, Rage Against the Machine, Todd Rundgren, Tina Turner and Dionne Warwick.

"This remarkable ballot reflects the diversity and depth of the artists and music the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame celebrates," Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation chairman John Sykes said in a statement. "These nominees have left an indelible impact on the sonic landscape of the world and influenced countless artists that have followed them."

To be considered for induction, 25 years must have passed since the act’s first commercial recording. Among the first-time nominees for this year’s ceremony include Foo Fighters, The Go-Go’s, Iron Maiden, Jay-Z, King, Kuti and Warwick. King was previously inducted in 1990 as songwriter.

More than 1,000 industry professionals will cast their votes, while you can have your say by voting at RockHall.com or by visiting the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. The top five artists will be chosen by the public. The class of 2021 will be announced in May and sees their induction ceremony later this fall.
